The Agency to Promote Exportations & Investments reveals how they will help inward investment to Gabon
March 18, London: With the discovery of gas condensate in its pre-salt basin, $20 billion of major infrastructural projects planned by 2016 and state infrastructure investment from 2011-2026 said to be $21 billion, Gabon’s oil industry may be on the brink of a new golden age.
The Agency to Promote Exportations & Investments (APIEX), aims to play a pivotal role in this inward investment, and has initiated a mission to strengthen the Gabonese oil and gas industry.
Nina Alida Abouna, General Director, cited the benefits of APIEX to the investor as contributing to the diversification of the Gabonese economy by improving the image of Gabon and strengthening the private sector; and following the creation of the Presidential Investment Council, APIEX hopes to have all the tools to better assist all investors in general and those of the hydrocarbon sector in particular.
Ms Alida Abouna from APIEX will be discussing the advantages and limitations of the present investment framework in Gabon, and will be advising on how to effectively implement business strategy and investment plans, at the inaugural Gabon Oil & Gas Forum, run by The Energy Exchange, in a session titled ‘APIEX: building bridges between private sector and the state’.
As a key partner of the Forum, Ms Alida Abouna said: “We are partnering with the Gabon Oil & Gas Forum to ensure better visibility of the opportunities offered by Gabon on hydrocarbons and promote our sedimentary basin. APIEX in partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum and Hydrocarbons wants to mobilize a large number of companies and international partners to take part in the Forum, which provides an opportunity to exchange invaluable information.”
